This is a paper lantern for Xmas decoration. I crocheted them last year and my roommates love them. I made it for a yarn company where I work, too. I had to make them about 40. (a lot!!) Now, nobody wants to take it away, so we still have it. At the midnight, it looks very beautiful. Since I don't have a tripod, it looks a little blur. I hope I can show you the detail

If I were an art director, I would like to choose Chris Collins for my photographer because his photo has more sense of humor. In his picture, the products are more talking to me. They are more animated and have stories. Lighting might be a little bit dark for my product, detergent, but I think I can make witty campaign with his photos. They are already speaking to me my headline of the ads.

At that time, one of my friend gave me a purple balloon and I carried it all day. I tried to take some photo with the balloon. I couldn't get clear purple and my photo has cyan cast. I didn't know why that happened. Then I realized that the white balance was "bulb". But I like this cyanish photo, so I decided to keep this photo. (Actually, I slightly reduce cyan cast.) It looks cool and futuristic. I imagine that "This place has advanced technology and equipment "....... Photo lies.

Before the class, I was planning to use black paper or cloth for the background because I wanted to get black background for these colorful flower. In the class, I told professor about it and she said I didn't need them. I was wondering if I get unnecessary background for my flower, but I got this total black background. Then I learned that light does not reach to the background if object has enough distance from them. That was interesting.

This is one of a Richard Foster photo. I choose this photo because it looks very dramatic. Since this photo uses side (harsh?) lighting with dark background, the jacket shows the half of the shape and the wrinkles makes interesting negative shapes. I couldn't recognize what it is at first, but it got my attention. Even it doesn't show a whole part of jacket, it could be use for ad because it is dramatic and cool.

It is snowing now. I went to outside to take snow photos. I was trying to take picture with long exposure because I wanted to capture snow flake. But accidentally I used flash and I like the result. These snow flakes look blue because of flush light and background color is orange. I think I like the contrast. I am not sure where the purple color came from, but the color makes this photo colorful. I wanted to take more photos, but it was too cold to be outside...

What I like about this photo is transparency. this photo uses back lighting. Usually, backlighting makes the image invisible, but the object shows more detail with lighting because it is transparent. The colors are mixed with each other to create another color. It is beautiful. Also, the photo looks graphic.

I worked for a yarn company last year. My boss asked me to take yarn photos for the Web site. This photo is one of the photos. It is fine silver. Since it is silver, I wanted to make it shine. But it was too fine to take the photo. Then I decided to knit it. Also I made small studio and put on light with it. I thought it was good, but my boss did not like it. She said, "We are not selling jewel." Maybe she was right.
